To everyone who has who has stumbled upon this sight, seen it on social media, or been asked to view this blog by me personally, regardless of how you got here I want to welcome you. My name is Stephen Lee Shelley, but most people eventually begin to call me Shelley after knowing me for awhile (this is still a mystery to be by the way). I am 23 years old and graduated from Point University, in West Point Georgia, with a degree in Biblical Studies and Preaching. I am currently working as an intern in Student Life at the college diligently working to create genuine community on campus.

My initial thought after my internship was to begin grad school. God has some different plans for me though and this led me to begin thinking about how I am using my time right now. I knew I had nothing hindering me from doing something huge. Thus The World Race was placed in front of me. I was reluctant to apply at first, but after I prayed I did…….AND I GOT ACCEPTED!

Now after that entrance, here is ten facts about me to know me a little bit better:

1. I was a military brat (Air Force woot woot) and traveled all over the U.S. as a kid.

2. I was into roller blading as a kid, and still enjoy it from time to time.

3. I played college basketball in the NAIA for Point University.

4. I am a cold weather person. Bring on the chill!

5. I love games. Card games, board games, online games, and video games all are something I enjoy.

6. I can grow an afro (everyone always asks to see my driver’s license picture).

7. I am a huge Georgia Bulldogs fan.

8. I love to cook. Put me in a kitchen and you will get some grub for sure.

9. I am a bit of a daredevil; jumping off 80 foot cliffs and waterfalls being a few things I have done.

10. I am extremely in love with Dr. Pepper. Most of my friends say I have a problem, but for now, I see no issue with consuming 6 or 7 a day.

I am so Excited to be a part of The World Race. I know there will be many trials ahead, but I know that God will see me through any of them. I feel a bit overwhelmed, like most people would, about fundraising and getting to the mission field. I ask you to pray for me that I would continue to trust in what God is doing in my life. I also would ask you to consider supporting me on this journey. I know that I can not do this alone, but with the support of the body of believers around me, and ultimately God directing me, I know I can overcome any obstacle.

This is just a bit about me. I hope that you enjoy my posts as they start to accumulate and follow me on my journey. I would love to hear your story as well. Please comment or message me and we can connect. I would love to share in the story God has placed in front of you as well. Thank you for stopping by.

Many blessings,

Stephen Shelley
