I have been thinking a lot about different aspects of the race the past few days. I think this is due to the outrageous weather we have been having in the Southeast this past week. For those of you who did not know, it snowed here in Georgia and practically shut down all of the state. I was held up at my job at Point University near the Georgia-Alabama line. We had to work on the fly to accommodate our students with food, information, and activities. It was hectic at times, but also it was fun and exciting. After the snow was on the ground for a few days it began to melt away. It was gone by the weekend. The crazy thing is that Sunday we had a high of 74 degrees!?! People were stunned by the sudden change in weather here, but hey you really can’t complain. You get the best of both worlds; snow to play in and warm weather to relax and enjoy.

Now that I quickly ranted about our bipolar weather, I want to key in on something I know will be a challenge on the race. We will be constantly put in situations where we must work on the fly and with short notice. Our flexibility will be tested beyond our normal limits. Things might be one way in a single moment and in the next moment be the complete opposite. My teammates and I will have to be on our toes ready to go in any moment, just like the snowpocalypse that I was in this past week. Situations will differ and moments will sometimes be lax and sometimes they will be tense. One thing that I know for sure is that God will be there every step of the way and He will lead us through those situations. That is one thing I will be sure to constantly have on my mind throughout the trip.
