I’ve always hated asking for help, and I’m even worse at accepting help. I’m too independent sometimes, but mostly I’m just stubborn. I don’t like to inconvenience people.
But the good news is this trip is not about me. It’s not about what I’m going to experience, and it’s definitely not about what I’m going to do.
It’s about bringing glory to God. It’s about the broken, hurting people of the world. And it’s about dying to myself to live and love like Jesus.
Yall, I’m totally ill-equipped for this task. And that’s where you come in! God calls and equips the unqualified. And one of the ways he does that is through community. I’m surrounded by incredible people, and I truly believe y’all are my biggest asset.
But why should you care?
Because we have brothers and sisters around the world who need our help. Nations of people who are without food and clean water, devastated by poverty and corruption. Girls sold into sex slavery because their families need an income. The sick who are deemed unclean and untouchable by their societies, families, and friends and left to suffer alone. Orphans who don’t know what it feels like to be loved.
But Stephanie, I can’t leave. I have a job. I have a bills. I have a family. I NEED a shower and running water.
Perfect! Let me do it for you! Am I going to single-handedly change the world? No, probably not. But if I can change the life of even one hungry, hurting soul, I’ll gladly give up a year of mine to do so.
But I need your help. There. I said it.
Prayer is a huge priority. I recognize that I can’t walk through this alone, and while I have a challenging year ahead, physically, mentally and spiritually, I trust in the power community and, most importantly, prayer. I’d love to walk through this with you, so please consider praying, now as we prepare for the Race, and over the year as we accomplish it.
Next up, the big elephant in the room. The funds. (Y’all knew it was coming!)
Friends, I don’t want your money. I really, really don’t. But again, this isn’t about me. Remember the brothers and sisters we talked about? That’s who you’re investing in. They need your help. When we partner together, we’re doubling the impact.
Important Data:
$17,617 // The amount of money I have to raise for the World Race. This covers all meals, lodging, air, land, and sea travel, and medical insurance, as well as administrative, set-up, coaching, debriefing, training camp, and Project Searchlight (basically training for re-entry into normal life) costs
$2,500 // Roughly the personal expenses of any vaccines, medicines, gear, and personal items I’ll need for a year away from home. If you feel led to help with this rather than my route, I’ll be happy to chat with you about the needs!

If you’re thinking those are some pretty big numbers, let me just remind you that we serve an even bigger God! I’m overwhelmed by how he has provided so far, so I have no doubt he can handle some money. You can track my goal at the top of the page, as well as find the button to donate. Adventures in Missions has a really great tool for online giving. You can easily set up automatic monthly gift, or simply make a one time donation.
Let’s spread the good news of Jesus! Together we can feed the hungry and heal the sick. We can fight human trafficking and care for the widows and orphans. We can be the light in such a dark world. I’m overwhelmed by all of the support and encouragement I’ve received so far, and I’d be honored to have you join us!
