Sorry about the 3 blogs in one day thing, we don’t have internet so we
have to post them all at once when we do. I debated posting this, but I really
do think I should. On the last night we were in Ecuador, the kids made us sit
in chairs and gave us gifts (that were obviously what they could find around
their houses) and wrote countless letters to us. They all consisted of little
kid handwriting in spanish saying “we love you, we dont want you to leave,
you will always be in our hearts, etc. Yarina (the one who’s ear I fixed up)
ran inside and gave me her teddy bear. It’s all raggedy and dirty, and I may or
may not keep it forever. Sigh… I still cry lookin at the pictures sometimes.

When I was saying goodbye to Sisa, Yarina, and
Lisette, I started to cry a little. Then, unexpectedly, they all did too, and
soon I had around 10 kids on me crying and begging me not to leave, which made
me cry even harder, and that whole scene seriously lasted for about an hour, no
exaggeration. It was perhaps one of the most impactful nights of my life. I’m
learning tons about being loved and that I have value – it’s pretty darn sweet.
