As we fasted and had a quiet day as an entire squad yesterday, I laid in the grass in the backyard, opened my bible and started writing in my journal. God began speaking to me about our unexplainable time of “waiting” here in South Africa.
In Luke 24:29 it says, “I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”
The disciples had to wait and stay in Jerusalem until the day of Pentecost, not only for their own preparation but because they had to wait until the Lord was actually glorified. The Lord would not be glorified until the resurrection and assent ion. As soon as he was glorified, it says in Acts 2:33, “Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear.”
During this time, the disciples were waiting for the Holy Spirit to come down. The statement in John 7:39 “…for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified” – doesn’t pertain to us because the Holy Spirit has been given; the Lord is glorified. Our waiting is not dependent on the providence of God, but on our own spiritual condition and readiness.
I find this very amusing that our squad seems to be in the same boat right now. We have been called to stay in this city (Nelspruit) until we have the power from on high and are ready and capable to go to Mozambique to do ministry. I realize that the whole waiting period for the disciples was for the Holy Spirit to come down. But as for us, we have the Holy Spirit…but are we spiritually ready for what is to come?? [Another “coincidence”…our squad was prophesied over 3 days ago that we were not ready for Mozambique. Maybe that’s why God has us waiting here in Nelspruit for unexplained reasons.]

Are we honestly ready to do what God has called us to do no matter the cost?
Are we ready to do what we signed up for one year ago?
