Paul is my
favorite character in the bible. I just get these giddy little butterflies in
my stomach every time I think about him!! I am absolutely fascinated with the
life that he lived. His stories really inspire me. I am always learning more
and more about him. I love it!

While stuck in
bed the other day, I decided to look up the word “receive” in the back of “My
Utmost for His Highest” devotional book to see what God has to say about this
receiving business since I felt that was what He was trying to teach me this
month. Well, the funny thing was that there were no references to that word. So
I decided to look up “serving” instead. Low and behold, there was a whole page
on service and servanthood. So I spent the rest of the day reading devotionals
in My Utmost book learning about serving. It was great.

I never realized
how much of a servant Paul was. He was mentioned in almost every single devo on
service. It was great! I found it so inspiring that Paul found his life so dear
that he would fulfill the ministry that he had received and he wouldn’t waste
time or energy on anything but that ministry. It really convicted
me. I began to search my heart and ask myself how committed I really was to the
ministry that I have been called to. Paul didn’t consider his life dear to
himself. He considered the life that God had called him to dear. Paul was never
about himself. He was selfless. That’s what I love about him!

Paul was the type
of person who didn’t care if he had to be a doormat because his sole purpose in
life was his devotion to Jesus Christ. The motivation of his service was
not love for others or approval of man but love for his Lord. Paul did
not care how high the cost. He was a risk-taker. He was a peace-maker. He was a
holy and righteous man who was in love with the Father.

The way Paul
lived his life is so inspiring to me. His stories will never get old. The words
that he has left for me are so encouraging.

Thank you Paul!!
