We are staying at yet another YWAM base here in Phnom Penh. It is a 4 story mansion. There are atleast 8-10 bathrooms, 10+ bedrooms, several balconies on each level, a kitchen, a huge dining/living area, laundry facilities, storage rooms, etc. I am convinced that this will probably be the nicest place we stay on the entire race. It is beautiful here. I absolutely love it.

The staff cooks us an overwhelming abundance of food each day [lunch and dinner]. This includes fresh veggies, meat and fruit! I love it! I am definitely gaining weight living here.

Some fun unique things about this culture are:

Tuk-tuk (pronounced “took-took”) – this is our form of travel to and from our house to the slums twice a day everyday. It is a motorcycle with a carriage on the back of it which can hold about 6 people.

Phone booths – The phone booths here are very common. They are on every street and they consist of a little booth with numbers on it. And in order to use it, you go up to the booth and there is a guy on the other side that hands you a cell phone to use. How convenient!! lol coolest thing ever!

Rooster Sauce – this is some sort of sweet/sour and spicy local sauce that we love to put on EVERYTHING! Especially rice. We are not quite sure what is in it or what it is made out of but we are running out of it and the only thing I’m concerned about is where to buy more of it!

Malls & Markets – The markets here are so much fun to shop at. You can get so many cool things at the market for cheap prices! I am learning to barter, haggle, bargain – all that good stuff! It’s fun! The malls here are really big and kind of makes me feel like I am back in the states – in a weird way.

Swensen’s icecream place – best icecream ever!! These strawberry/banana a la mode sundaes only cost us $3.20 each! They have tons of flavors and tons of sundaes and shakes for really cheap!! We were in heaven when we discovered this place in the mall.

In conclusion…family, friends and supporters: I am not living in a hut, I am not living in the dirt or in a shack [atleast not THIS month!]. I am alive, I am healthy, and as you can see, God is taking care of me as I am MORE than blessed to be where I am right now.

Thank you for your continuous prayers and support.

I love Cambodia!!
