During the 21st – 27th of September, the 52 of us (H Squad) stayed at “Camping Darste” in Brasov, Romania. Brasov is the capitol of Romania and is a pretty sweet city.

The Awakening Conference took place from the 22nd-25th. Here we met up with World Race Alumni and the other 3 squads currently out on the field – I, J and K. There were a total of about 200 people here for the conference.

It was an amazing 4 days of worship and fellowship with all of us out on the field.” J” and “K” squads have been out for 2 months. “I” squad has been out for 5 months and our squad (H) has been out for 9 months. It was pretty interesting to see racers in different places in the journey of this trip. I can’t imagine being back at month 2, but I also can’t believe I am starting month 10 already. I’ll be home in less than 2 months. Thanksgiving will be done and over with in less than 2 months. It all seems so surreal to me.

Andrew Sherman, Seth Barnes and Michael Hines all spoke at the conference. Seth talked a lot about kingdom dreams and what God is putting on each of our hearts and calling us to. He prayed over me for the calling that God has placed on my life after the race. It was extremely encouraging. Mike and Patti Paschall (our coaches) really encouraged and poured into me this week as well. They are amazing!! I love them soo much!!

Throughout the week, teams from each squad got together and painted these old doors. The theme was “what does ‘kingdom’ mean to us?” So we painted the doors in regards to what we felt when we thought of “kingdom.” It was a really neat way to spend time with people from other squads and put our creativity together!

“I” Squad challenged our squad to a dance-off several months ago. So we had to take care of some business and battle it out. It was a blast even though “I” squad ended up winning.

The praise and worship was incredible. To have 200 people crammed in a conference room at a hotel and to worship God freely and openly was absolutely incredible! There was so much prophetic worship that changed lives this week. Praise God!!

Going in to the conference, most of H squad was tired and worn out. This week was a huge refreshment for us. It got us all pumped up to finish our last 2 months strong. God knew what each of our needs were and met every single one of them. It was incredible!!

Thank you to all the AIM staff and alumni for putting this together and dedicating so much time and effort into pouring into us out here on the field!!
