well another travel day has gone by. we left Cape Town on the 26th and flew to Joberg. We had a day in Joberg with the squad and then headed to the airport early on the 28th. We had to take multiple trips there and we actually ended up getting there 12 hours too early- ha but it was because our fight had been moved back. we finally get on the plane and had a 7 1/2 hour flight to Doha, Qatar (the middle east). after a 3-4 hour layover overnight we then had another 7 1/2 flight to Manila. I will take sitting in an airport and long multiple flights with yummy food and fun in-flight entertainment over a 75 hour hot bus ride in Africa any day! so I can’t complain.

I am currently in Manila, the capital of the Philippines, and I already love it here!!! (I know, I know, I say that just about everywhere we go) tomorrow team DR along with 4 other teams will be taking another flight to the island of Mindanao. there we will be working with KIM (Kids International Ministries). I am SOOO excited to be working with some kidos. I’m not sure what all we will be doing yet, but this organization is well established and has been working with the world race for three years now. they say all racers who get to come here fall in love and want to come back. there are even ex-racers who have come back here permanently- one being my good friend William Miller. I am excited to see him!!!

with only four months left of the race, we are beginning a whole new season. a new continent. new ministries. I have no idea what Asia holds but I know God is already here and working hard. My heart breaks more for Asia than I thought it would and I’m excited for God to reveal more and more to me.

With these changes I have also been asked to step up as a team leader- woot! I’ll be on the same team, just a new position. Natalie is going to take over for finances for me and Tommy gets to experience a whole new side of the race. He has done an awesome job. I have seen Tommy grow more and more each month and his strength, especially after the accident has blown my mind. Lia and Joshua came to me the other day asking if I would accept the offer. I have no idea what I am doing to be honest, but God wasn’t closing the door so I knew I had to say yes. I honestly have never seen my self as a leader, but I can’t wait to see what God is going to show me in this new identity. I need your guys prayers. my team needs your prayers. I pray God can give me the words of encouragement for me to speak to my team. I pray God will be guiding me the whole way so that I can lead them. I pray for hope and love and value in Christ to be spoken to the people of Asia. I’m excited for all of us and what this will bring to our team.

thanks for all the support back home guys!! love you all tons. I still can’t believe I am actually in Asia 😀
