The enemy is getting to us. Pray for:

1. Health. we found out a couple of us have amebas (not me that I know of). these are not good. Three of our teammates had to stay overnight in the hospital to get better. and living all in the same house probably means many more of us have them. Also, April has a kidney stone, not something fun to have in a 3rd world country. Pray for our team to all get better here soon as Haiti is even worse conditions and will not be a place we can get medical care in.

2. Unity. for my team, that our hearts grow to be on the same page together all for God’s glory.

3. Travel. we leave for Haiti bright and early next Saturday morning, the 31st. Crossing the border is not possible by bus from where we are now so it is going to be a long day of travel. Pray for our safety and protection, as crossing over and exchanging currency is not going to be easy.

4. Barraccones. The other day the military was in the neighborhood because there has apparently been an outbreak of Dengue Fever there. Pray for the health of the families and kids there that we have come to love.

5. Christ like attitudes. As month one comes to an end, I pray for re-energized hearts. For all of us to remember why we signed up for the race. To continue to die to ourselves everyday and follow Jesus. Not only for the racers, but our amazing translators. They have been called to ministry here in their own country and are doing remarkable things in His name. I pray they too continue to run to the Lord in all they do. For love to shine through us and to continue to put others before ourselves. And for Christ to manifest in who we are and who we are all becoming.

***Last night some of the racers and translators all had worship out in the front yard. As we are signing in English and Spanish it started to rain.

I stay still. Singing, full of joy, rain beating down on my face, the sound of two nations praising God… I can’t help but smile and raise my hands.

These are the moments that keep me going. These are the moments I pray for everyone to experience. These are the moments that make every lie from the enemy wash away: the sadness I feel from missing my family, when I see devastation that has hit so many families, all the sad homeless animals and a country in need of more than just physical aid. And even in the moments when I miss Dan miserably, God reminds me of how He’s working through the O squad in Romania and Ukraine and I can’t help but fill up with so much peacefulness hearing those stories.

God is moving in ways we can’t even imagine all around the world and we must not give up. We must break out of our comfortable lives and surrender all to Him. Faith is nothing without action. And as long as you are running toward God and pursuing Him, you are satisfied in Him alone. If any of you feel God calling you one way and it terrifies you. Listen. Follow. Trust Him. Pursue Him. It will be the best decision of your life. This is my prayer for you all…

Psalm 63:1-5

O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is better than life, my lips glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you.
