so this month my team has adopted a kitten!!! I found him in the freezing cold rain, shaking one night :[ We have renamed him everyday: meowski, frank, hercules, pablo, jean claude, nuisance, bufford, rubie annnnd today its milo, ha. God definitely speaks to me in animals cuz this little guy has been of such comfort this month. he sleeps with me, makes me laugh and reminds me how precious all of Gods creatures are. He is also dependent on me rights now- Just as God calls us to Him.
my teammate, Juliette, wrote a really insightful blog on meowski and I wanted to share below. Be praying we can find the little guy a home too or train him to live out of my pack in Africa!

from Juliette’s blog:
when traveling abroad there is one thing that is always consistent among developing countries…stray animals. typically they are malnourished, dirty and diseased. in Moldova you will find stray dogs and cats by the masses. they hang out in the streets. it’s survival of the fittest. they love handouts of any kind, rummage through dumpsters, cower when approached, and often huddle in small, secret places.
it makes me think:
sometimes…some Christians (me included)…live like stray humans. there is a survival of the fittest mentality. sons and daughters begging for handouts when there is a banquet table already set. sons and daughters roaming the earth looking for a place to call home in the midst of a kingdom they’ve already inherited. sons and daughters settling for second hand when they already own everything.
a few of us adopted a stray kitten this month in Moldova (thanks to Woody’s compassionate heart). instead of him having to survive alone in the cold, he has now entered the Cold War Cottage Kingdom…haha…he has inherited protection from outside elements, food and water, unconditional love and affection, the freedom to play, and the grace to get into trouble. he is safe here.
the world wants to tell us that we are on our own. The Lord says we are His adopted Beloved. the prayer of my heart is that i will no longer see myself as a beggar but as a partaker. that i will walk in the fullness of who i am because of whose i am. some days…i get it. i live it. i believe it. other days…not so much. this is part of my journey on the world race…walking in the fullness of who i am…ALL the time. i’m not a part-time Kingdom kid. a house divided against itself will not stand. so i break off old mindsets in Jesus’ name. i cast off lies the enemy has been whispering in my ear. “and i take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me” (Philippians 3:12b). i claim His resurrection power in my life. amen.
(note: as i write this, the kitten is resting on my shoulders. a good reminder to keep resting on His shoulders. thanks kitty.)
