i love my family.
for Christmas, i got to Skype my mom and brother and grandparents for the first time since Europe (minus after the wreck). I miss them so much. it made me tear up talking to them- you never realize how much hearing those you loves voice means to you until you don’t get the chance to talk to them but once every couple of months.
I especially miss my mom. she has always been there for me and has always supported me in everything I do. she was at every single one of my gymnastics meets growing up, she came to all my dance performances and she came to all my art shows in college. When I first told her about the race she was super sad to not see me for a year, but immediately she supported me. she put her worries and concerns behind her. she has always had faith in me and she is who raised me up to know the importance of Jesus’ love. she embodies so many of the qualities of Christ.
annnnd today is her birthday!!! I’m sad I cannot be there with you today mom, but here is my present to you:

mom- I can’t get my email right now and I can’t Skype so this is the best I could do as a present. I want you to know you’re the best mom. you’re stronger than you realize and you’re beautiful!!!! i love you. Thank you for being YOU.
