Let me start this out by saying I did not realize that I needed to learn this.
I thought I had this one down.
Hospitality.
Easy right?
Well yes, it can be.
But I have learned that I am not naturally inclined to be hospitable. I mean sometimes when friends come over I remember to offer them water or something to eat. But I have recently realized what little I do to make others feel at home or bring in strangers. I am usually not the one to prepare meals or house strangers. I truly forget to do these things.
Wow, I sound so selfish. But these are all facts about myself that I have recently realized that I need to change. And I have the city of Galway, especially Discovery Church to thank for this heart/ mind set change.
Since our teams have been here we have been blessed beyond comprehension by the people of Discovery church.
We have been fed well. Extremely well fed. 🙂
We have had laundry done for us.
We have had warm houses offered to us to rest, find warmth and watch movies.
And have been blessed in many other ways.
Because of these blessings the Lord has taught me how important it is to be hospitable and what an impact it can have when we do this not for our gain but for love of others through Christ’s love for us.
So thank you my sweet friends of Discovery Church.
I have been truly blessed by you and thank God for you.
Thank you for making our time in Galway amazing and special. I am truly blessed.
One of my goals when I get back is to love others out of my new found love and respect for hospitality. Now I have tasted and seen the blessings that come from this gift I am excited and ready to love others in this way.
Get ready Austin, Denver or New York.
Stephanie Webster is maybe coming to your city to live in 8 months or so. Be ready for some Hospitality: Galway Style. 🙂
