Happy Thanksgiving America.
The other day our pastor taught us swallowship. An African word for fellowship. A time to come together discuss life and literally swallow a coke product or a freshly made juice.
Today we introduced our pastor and his family to our version of swallowship, Thanksgiving dinner. It was a feast. My team and I worked all day creating a very realistic American Thanksgiving meal.
We had corn, mashed potatoes, stuffing, chicken, fried okra, biscuits and a couple other vegetable dishes. It was quite the production, my mother would have been proud.
It was fun to recreate such an American day here in Africa, and to experience such a blessed meal with some amazing friends and contacts.
Although I miss the cool weather, football and my family. I am truly thankful for my family here and where the Lord has me.
I encourage you to seek the Lord for what you are thankful for this holiday season. And remember that He is all that we need.
So cheers my American friends and family. I pray that you will have a blessed day of feasts, family and swallowship African or American style.
