I truly never know what to expect these days. It is pretty amazing.

Last night my team and I had the amazing opportunity to go caroling in Thailand. We went with about 40 other Thai students and Ywam staff through the surrounding neighborhood of BJD and sang our hearts out. It was so much fun.
Who knew singing Christmas songs in Thai could be so much fun…
We belted Joy to the World, Silent Night and everybody’s favorites We Wish You a Merry Christmas and Feliz Navidad. (the last two were real crowd pleasers).
We went to houses, stores, the market and a ministry site with lit candles,a couple of guitars, a drum and our voices.  We really did sound good too.  I did not know that Thai people were really blessed with beautiful voices. They definitely carried the group with beautiful sounds of Christmas into the air.
After a couple of songs someone in Thai would ask the recipient what they needed prayer for and we as one body would pray for them. Praying that the Lord would bless them, their home and community.
This was usually followed by food.
I did not realize how food and caroling went together.  But they really do make a great combo.
We basically ate our way around the city as much as we sang our way.
We were served chicken on a stick, tuna crackers, cookies, juice and soda, peanuts and candy. It was a great treat for my team and I. We really had no clue what we were getting ourselves into.  But it was fabulous.
We all had a great time.
I had a couple of moments where the amazingness of the situation was not lost on me. That moment that you just want to remember everything. Every detail, feeling and sound.
The sight of all of candles lit, singing Thai songs in unity and praying for everyone and anyone with a sense of urgency and authenticity.
It was a beautiful scene.
I am truly blessed by what the Lord is doing here and the opportunities that He so generously provides.
I am excited to see what He will continue to do with our time here.
