All good things come to an end…
Is this a true statement?
Is this something that I want to believe in my life?
I was sitting here in my El Salvadorian contacts house reminiscing over this past year, my life and the unfortunate ku loss last night. And that saying was going through my mind. But then it made me stop and truly think, is that a true statement and do I want to believe that?
Yes, my time on the World Race will end. Yes, my life will come to an end one day. Yes, the Jayhawks season is over.
But does the end of those good things mean an end to good in general or the end of one to begin another. So is that saying that we hear so often we don’t even ponder what it means anymore true?
If all good things come to an end, what are we left with? Are we left with bad or are we sent off to the next good thing?
I dont yet know the answer to this mind bending question but I thought it deserved some attention and some internal soul searching…
I guess for now I will live as Paul says in Philippians: “to live is Christ and to die is gain”.
Whether or not all good things come to an end or not: I will live for Christ knowing that eternity with Him is a far better gain than anything else.
