Life at Center for Global Action (CGA)

I’ve been in Gainesville, GA for the past two weeks now at Center for Global Action (CGA.)  The time has flown by with incredible teachings, powerful worship, and fun events.

The first week we went on a camping trip in South Carolina. We backpacked the first day for nine miles to a river where we set up camp. The next day was dedicated to alone time with God. We each found a spot to process the World Race and seek the Lord for this next season at CGA. The third day we had fun swimming in the river and playing mafia.

When we got back to Gainesville, we began training sessions for CGA. We learned about our calling, our strengths, and tips for making the most out of our time at CGA. We also had some community events such as ultimate Frisbee, lip-sync battle and a bon fire to get to know each other.

My housemates and I moved into our home for the next few months this past Saturday.  There are seven of us, and I have loved getting to know them!

My tracks began Tuesday, and so far I have already learned a lot. In Activation, I am learning problem-solving strategies for organizations and about our projects we will complete this semester.  In the Long-term Missions Track, we have gotten to know each other by sharing testimonies, and we have gone over what we will accomplish this semester. We will be going through two books which are helpful for life on the field, working in the local community for a trafficking organization and learning from people who have done long-term missions for years. We will also go through an intense training week with sessions focused on preparing missionaries for life on the field.

The training I’m receiving is equipping me for the calling God has placed on my heart of full-time missions. I am so thankful for all of your support—encouragement, prayers and financial gifts.

I am still $242 shy of my last deadline and have to raise $1,978 more by November 1st.   If you feel led to partner with me in this time of preparation for the mission field, you can click on the “Support Me!” link on the left of my blog. You can also mail a check made out to Adventures in Missions with my name (Stephanie Ransom) in the memo line to:

Here are some things I would love prayer for:

  • Opportunities and boldness in ministering to the local community in Gainesville, GA (We are currently taking the first steps in getting involved in local organizations)
  • The community  continuing the rest of the semester strong
  • Meeting support-raising deadlines

Thank you!!
