The theme of our Bible lessons at ministry in Honduras was gratitude. So, I’d like to share just a few things I am grateful for.
Holy Week
Over the past few years, Holy Week has found me in dramatically different seasons. Last year, I was in quite a ‘Saturday’. On Saturday, Jesus asked the disciples to trade their flawed and limited definition of love for the one He was exemplifying. Amidst the pain, fear, and confusion, He asked them to choose faith.
While I am still on the life-long journey of knowing Christ and grasping the significance of His sacrifice on the Cross, this year has found me in a very different season. Sunday has come and Christ has been graciously showing me His wounds, inviting me to experience His love in ways I never dreamed possible. He has been teaching me the joy of Sunday and what a glorious day it is!

Ministry
God gave me an opportunity to work alongside residents at a special needs orphanage. Together, we cleared a plot of land for use as a horse corral (equestrian therapy) and tried our hands at piñata making. I got to enjoy the beautiful uniqueness of each resident, to marvel at the ways they had been designed to bring God glory.
I was also given an opportunity to minister in an elementary school where our host had an ongoing feeding and devotional program. We got to learn about why Christians are so thankful and how to live lives of gratitude. I got to be a part of planting the word of God in young children’s hearts, to delight in seeing the Lord establish spiritual foundations in Honduras’ next generation.
Community
I got to share life with amazing people.
I lived life with my team AND another World Race team ๐ Running club, vision casting/worship sessions, and laughs upon laughs, I cherished it all!
(Both World Race teams with Brett McNeal)
We met our neighbours, the McNeal family, through the orphanage we volunteered at and they quickly became our close friends. To say that they are some of the most generous and hospitable people in the world doesn’t really do them justice. I’m thankful for Sunday afternoons spent chatting at the kitchen table, for our days shovelling dirt piles, and for all of the things the McNeal family (and their friends) taught me about love.
Scarleth and David, our official World Race hosts, not only taught me how to make soy milk and soy burgers from scratch, they also blessed me with countless examples of how to depend on and surrender to the Lord.
Honduras
I got to enjoy new and enchanting sights.
Valle de Angeles, Our Home!
Waterfall Hike
El Picacho Park
Coffee and Citrus Farm
Tegucigalpa
And as if that wasn’t enough, God has also given me months in both Guatemala and Belize to enjoy!
My Hopes
I hope that you are embracing and chasing after a deeper experience of the freedom He has bought for you.
But even more than that… I hope you are granted the blessing of believing that (regardless of your perception/understanding) your freedom has already been secured and you can never be more securely loved than you already are.
Praise
We get to live lives of gratitude, resting securely in what has been finished on our behalf ๐
Prayer Requests
For God to continue His work in the hearts of the people of Honduras, particularly the children and those with special needs.
My team and I spent two nights in Antigua, Guatemala before heading to Chichicastenango, our current home.
Expect a Guatemala blog soon ๐
Thank you for your support and encouragement, you rock!
Love you all!!
