It all began in 1981, and the world would never be the same. I grew up in eastern NC, living with my mom and grandparents with no a/c, an outhouse, no cable TV and lots of other oddities, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I was quite the tom boy and loved anything that had to do with getting dirty, especially since my best friend was a boy. When I was 9 mom married the best guy in the world and I have the privilege of calling him dad. My parents and I are very close now that I’m not a teenager anymore. 🙂
I have been in church since before I was born and was saved at an early age. I have been blessed to grow up with a solid Christian foundation and a strong belief in the power of prayer. 
In 2002 I moved to GA to attend Emmanuel College. It was one of those things I just knew I was supposed to do. I graduated in 2005 with a BS in Media Communication and stayed in the area mostly to stay with my church family at Ekklesia, definitely not out of a love for the chicken houses and cows. I’m an Office Admin at a local church, Riverside, where they have lovingly put up with me for 3 and a half years. Last fall I took 3 months away to do the Watch internship with the International House of Prayer in Atlanta and it was by far one of the best opportunities in my life thus far. I also help with the Atlanta chapter of Bound4Life, interceding to see the ending of abortion and LIFE released in our city. I can’t wait to be able to prayer walk through streets around the world and see God bring life, hope and healing.

Other than that I’m an
introvert with extroverted tendencies. I am altogether too analytical
for my own good and, therefore, do not quickly jump into discussions. I love trying new things but frequently have to
have a friendly push. I have a talent for finding rare ways to get injured, most recently a hurt leg while playing the djembe – still not sure. I’m a bit of a nerd and love reading, writing, art, music, etc. Oh and I like to laugh!

Randomness:– I like all kinds of music, except screamo and polka – sorry can’t handle those
– My favorite books as a kid were Black Beauty and The Secret Garden but I’m a bit frightened of horses and sometimes don’t know the difference between a flower and a weed
– My prophetic name is Abigail Joy, but I prefer AJ (yes there’s a story behind this)
– Of all the art supplies my favorite is chalk pastels and I”m convinced it’s because they’re so messy
– According to Meyers-Briggs only 2% of the world shares my personality – so I
really am quite unique
– I really want to jump off a moving train at some point in life
– I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE coffee!!!!
