This is a conversation I had with me and myself yesterday when I saw a post scroll past me on my Facebook feed. (I know that I’m going to come off sounding a little crazy, but there’s really nothing I can do about that.)

Me: GAHHHH!

Myself: What? Ew, that’s pretty gross looking.

I: It’s fake

Me: It says it kills people within minutes of them touching it! The post says it’s in INDIA!

I: It’s fake.

Myself: What if it’s not?

Me: I DON’T WANT TO LEAVE THE STATES EVER!!!

I: IT’S FAKE!

Me: And look at the HAND! THAT LOOKS SOOO PAINFUL!

Myself: We did just study that part of Revelation in BSF about the demonic scorpion things that torture people for five months with their sting. What if this is that?

Me: What if I accidentally touch it while I’m in Asia somewhere?!? What if I die because of this thing??? I DON’T WANT TO GO!

I: OH MY GOODNESS! First, That picture is CLEARLY fake! It doesn’t even LOOK real! Second, the demonic scorpion locusts from Revelation are a world wide plague, not localized to India. Third of all, even if it IS real, God’s got everything in control. It’s not unprecedented that God would heal people miraculously or let people die for His glory. If you’re going to die that way, there’s nothing you can do about it. Get over it.

Me: I THINK I CAN FEEL THE PAIN IN MY HAND! IT’S SPREADING UP MY ARM!

I: I think you’re overreacting just a little bit.

Myself: You’re right, it’s probably fake. I don’t see anything about it right now. I’ll look tomorrow and see if there’s anything about being a hoax online.

I: Of course I’m right. Tomorrow, it’ll be exposed and this will all blow over in a week.

Myself: It’s still a really gross picture. Blech!

I: What happened to Me?

Myself: I think she hyperventilated herself to sleep.

I: Hopefully she wakes up a little less crazy in the morning. I think I’m going to bed though.

Myself: Good night.
