The new routes have been posted….I have been praying. I am still in the stages of officially getting into a route, but I am pretty certain I know which one God has for me. I am BEYOND excited to get the ball rolling again!
That said…
I am ready to get fundraising again!!
So how am I fundraising?
A couple things for you to know as I get back into serious fundraising:
– I have a personal goal to be fully funded before I launch next August.
– I already have about $8800 in my World Race account, making me about $9000 shy of my World Race account be fully funded, plus about another $2500 for travel to and from training camp and launch, and other expenses that will continue while I am on the Race.
How can you join me in this journey?
Some of the ways I am currently fundraising include:
– Getting ministry partners to support me with a monthly gift for the next 12 months until I launch. If just 13 people partnered with me at $100 a month, or 25 people at $50 a month, I would be fully funded.
– My Adopt-A-Number Board: I have a board with the numbers 1-150 (with a few numbers missing). You pick a number from the board and donate that much towards my goal. If all of the remaining numbers were removed, I would be fully funded. (P.S. behind a few selected numbers are a sticker. If you pick a number with a sticker you win a prize of a gift card. Right now I have gift cards to Sonic and BJ’s Restaurant and plan on getting a few more donated for this.)
– Sonic Community Cards: I have these awesome Sonic Discount Cards that have coupons for things like a BOGO Burger, BOGO Coney, $0.99 Drink, etc. These cards cost $5 of which I get all the profits and you get coupons worth over $10 at least.
– Adopt-A-Day of my World Race: In order to go on the race it costs about $50 per day. For every $50 someone donates they will get to select a date during the time I am on the race and I will specifically write notes, letters, stories, etc. and take pictures to create a special memory of that day on the race for that supporter. This could also work for adopting a week ($375) or a month/country ($1600).
Be on the lookout for other possible fundraisers over the next few months!!!
Some ideas I’m throwing around include:
– T-shirts: As soon as my route is finalized, my t-shirts will be finalized again (as the countries will have changed) and I will be posting about these shirts again.
– A fundraiser based on them miles I will be traveling during my World Race.
– A parent’s night out around Christmas for those in the San Antonio area. Kids will be able to come hang out and be entertained for 3 or so hours so parents can go out and enjoy some time together or go shopping for presents.
– Family Movie Night where families can come enjoy a show together while supporting my trip.
