Nepal is located in Southern Asia, and is slightly larger than Arkansas. Nepal covers a mere 147,000 sq km and has a population just over 29 million people. Nepal is landlocked between India and China and is home to 8 out of the world’s 10 highest peaks, including Mount Everest.
Nov 26th: Pray for my squads travel to and throughout Nepal, whatever transportation we use while in the country, that we would stay safe and arrive wherever we are going safely so that we can focus on sharing God while there.
Nov 27th: Pray for the 1.4% of the population that claim Christianity as their religious affiliation, that they would be God’s light in their circles of people. Pray for the 81.3% that are Hindus, 9% that are Buddhists, and 4% that are Muslims that the seed of the Gospel would be planted in their hearts and they would come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
Nov 28th: Pray for the ministries with which my squad and I will be working with while we are in Nepal. Pray that we would be able to serve them in whatever capacity they most need while we are there with them.
Nov 29th: Pray for the more than 40% unemployment rate that Nepal currently holds, that those unemployed would find the means to provide for themselves and their families in the coming year.
Nov 30th: Pray for the agricultural crops which include: rice, corn, wheat, sugarcane, jute, pulses, root crops, milk, and water buffalo meat to be in abundance in the coming year.
Dec 1st: Pray for Nepal’s export and import relations with other countries to remain positive so that they can receive the necessary products and money to keep their economy growing.
Dec 2nd: Pray for the safety of the people who travel along unpaved roadways as those roadways make up almost half of the total roadways in Nepal.
Dec 3rd: Pray for the health of my squad and I as we are in Nepal next September, that we would remain healthy and would be able to not contract any diseases. (The degree of risk is high, and the major infectious diseases include: bacteria diarrhea, Hep A and E, typhoid fever, Japanese encephalitis, malaria, and dengue fever)
Dec 4th: Pray for the leadership of Nepal, specifically the President, to lead the people of Nepal in the ways that God leads/desires for Nepal.
Dec 5th: Pray for the thousands of refugees from Tibet/China and Bhutan who find refuge in Nepal, that they would find it safe and desirable to return home and to their families.
Dec 6th: Pray for my squadmates fundraising needs as we continue to raise the necessary support to go on the race. (As I write this I am about 60% funded, praise God! But also please pray that I would find at least 3 more monthly supporters to meet my personally goal of number of monthly supporters, and that I would continue with a positive fundraising momentum.)
Dec 7th: Pray for whatever adventure our squad chooses to experience and enjoy while in Nepal. Pray for our safety, that no one would get injured and that we would be able to do ministry and enjoy that time, but also enjoy our time off exploring and participating in the adventure related stuff Nepal has to offer.
Dec 8th: Pray for the natural resources, such as quartz, timber, hydropower, copper, cobalt, and iron ore to be used appropriately and efficiently in order to provide positives to Nepal’s economy and overall image in the world.
Dec 9th: Pray for the industries (tourism, carpets, textiles, small rice, jute, sugar, oilseed mills, cement, and brick production) of Nepal to boom in the coming year.
Dec 10th: Pray against the current environmental issues which include: deforestation, contaminated water, wildlife conservations, and vehicular emissions.
Dec 11th: Pray for my squad mates, that we would be seeking after the Lord through this entire process, leading up to launch, and while on our route next year.
Dec 12th: Pray for all my squadmates in college taking final exams and preparing to see their families over their holiday breaks.
Dec 13th: Pray for my squad, that we would be able to stay present where we are, but also enjoy community and getting to know each other through group messages.
Dec 14th: Pray for the almost 25% of the population that is below the poverty line, that they would find the resources necessary to strive in life.
Dec 15th: Pray for those in the Army of Nepal to remain safe as they defend and protect their country when necessary.
Dec 16th: Pray for my squad as we are in Nepal next September to be able to share the Gospel of God and His light with the people we come in contact with. Pray also that we would be encouragers to those we are interacting with on a daily basis.
Dec 17th: Pray that the people who make up the labor force of Nepal would become skilled laborers and would be able to not only maintain a skill but give their nation a skill set.
Dec 18th: Pray for the transition of Opiates through the country to come to a stop as a means of protecting all those worldwide who die or suffer health consequences from these illegal drugs.
Dec 19th: Pray against the most common natural hazards to Nepal, which include: severe thunderstorms, flooding, landslides, drought and famine depending on the timing, and the intensity and duration of summer monsoons.
Dec 20th: Pray for the people of Nepal, pray that their hearts would be prepared for our arrival there next September, that their hearts and minds would be open to the Gospel.
