If you were to ask me this time last year where I would be in a year, I would quickly say this wasn’t it.  After graduating & starting the “real world,” I have realized this isn’t what I want out of life. Over the past few years, I have been a student, a graduate, a server, & a blogger. I have traveled & even lived outside of South Carolina. With all those occupations & opportunities, there has always been a whisper that has been inside of me telling me “there must be more.” I want more than a 9am to 5pm job & more than a status quo.

I strive to make a difference & I desire to love people. I like to think the love I have in my heart is greater than the boundaries of it. The amount of love I receive daily is unbelievable & for that I am blessed. But, I want others to experience being loved like I am loved. I have been battling an inner calling for quite some time now. I have been praying for a few months now for God to place me where he thinks I am meant to be & I think I have finally found that.

My heart is so full. My prayers have been answered & I have truly experienced God speaking to me. I am blessed to announce I have been chosen by Adventures in Missions Organization (ADV) to join The World Race. For those of you reading this & don’t know what The World Race is, it is an 11 month Christian mission trip to 11 countries around the world. I will spend one month in El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Burma, Thailand, Cambodia, Mongolia, & China working to help the local churches, schools, & orphanages meet the needs of each community while spreading the Gospel.

This is going to be a journey of a life time for me full of challenges. I have never traveled that far away from home from that amount of time. That is 11 month, almost a year. A lot can happen in those 11 months, but I know this is my plan for me. Through this journey, beginning now, until I am home from the field, I can’t help but find comfort in my daddy’s favorite bible verse growing up, which was Joshua 1:9b. “Be strong & courageous. Do not be terrified nor discouraged. For the Lord, your God will be with you wherever you may go.” Through this journey, first & foremost, I will ask for prayer. Prayer for my loved ones; pray they will find understanding in the purpose of me doing this & that they will find peace in this upcoming journey. Prayer for the people I come in contact with; pray that they will see God’s love in me & that they’ll long to have that love. But, more importantly prayer for me. Pray for my strength & courage though this process.

I am beyond excited to see this next year play out. I couldn’t be blessed with this opportunity. If you feel led & would like to help me financially through this journey, there is a “Support Me” tab located left. Like most mission organizations, all missionaries are responsible for funding there financial support. Any donation will be tax deductible & greatly appreciated.

I am so in love with the possibility of changing the world & words will never be able to explain my gratitude to you for helping me do so. But, I pray that in the midst of serving, God will change me way more than he changes the people I come in contact with. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting me through this life changing journey. Keep a look out on updates on my World Race!
