Hello all! I wanted to send you a quick update on everything I have been doing. I am now in Yanji, China.
We had team changes after Vietnam, so I am with my new team volunteering at an international academy. We are subbing for teachers, aiding teachers, creating a library, and hanging out with kids at lunch and recess. We have only had a few days on the field and are already really excited for this month! The kids are amazing and the faculty and staff have welcomed our help with opened arms.
Our location in China is colddd! It snowed the first day we arrived. We went from 90 degrees to under 20 degrees F! What a change! Traveling here was pretty brutal. We took a flight from Ho Chi Minh into Beijing and then had to board a 24h train ride. We had booked a sleeper train, but then we missed our original train booked and had to take a 27h train with NO sleeper seats. Yes, we sat upright for 27h!
Because of China being China… there are a lot of things I want to say but cannot say. 🙂 But just know that I will be teaching and loving on little kids this month!
