After a few weeks in Swaziland, the Lord has sent Nessa up to Nelspruit/BackDoor, South Africa. For the past week, we have been working hand in hand with Iris ministries (the same organization we worked with in Mozambique) and CARE (Community AIDS Relief Evangelism). Our days have consisted of hospital visits, helping with feeding programs, visiting carepoints and future locations for children villages, and painting/ construction.

CARE is an amazing organization that partners with and empowers local individuals to continue realizing their dreams and visions. It piggy backs on the slogan “not a hand out, but a hand up”. By jumping aboard with existing visions and individuals whom have taken the initiative to start building upon their vision, CARE will partner by providing funds, manpower, etc. to help the vision come even more alive. For example, we are currently helping to construct a patio and paint a mural at a local kindergarten. A local has been using her home to teach the kids in the village and to provide food for the children. CARE has come alongside this individual by expanding her “house” into a kindergarten and by providing the opportunity for her to attend additional schooling.

I hope that you enjoy the following slide show of photos from Africa: Mozambique, Swaziland and South Africa! (The pictures posted within the blog are views from our house in BackDoor!) For some reason, I find myself at a lack of words…please let these pictures minister to your soul. This area has captured my heart and I pray that it also tugs at your strings of compassion, love and mercy…
