I finally took the step. I’ve been stuttering for awhile, but now am full force ahead. This week I came on staff with Adventures in Missions. I am gradually making the turn from World Race participant to WR mobilizer. But, my aim remains the same…inviting others to join me on this journey and together we will embrace God’s beauty and transforming power.
Before joining AIM, I felt like I was at a standstill. Doors wide open all around me, but I felt like my legs were pegged to the ground. Truth be told, I thought (and still think) about what this next step would be and what door I would go through. Where would it lead me? Who would I be taking this step with? Do I stay in the same general direction, or take a radical right or left turn?

I was waiting on God. Which is good, don’t get me wrong. We desperately need to pray for his direction. But, in this case, I think He had already spoken. I was just waiting for a frying pan to hit me over the head with a blatant answer. I know that God can give clear cut answers, but I feel like He was communicating more intimately with me this time – through the heart, not the mind.
Stephanie, this last year you have been dying and I have been building you back up. I am giving you my heart. I am giving you my passion. What is your heart telling you? You’re getting too deep to just follow your mind. No, it might not make sense to the world, but do I make sense to most of the world? You cannot forget what I have already given you, what I’ve already whispered in your ear. Listen to your heart. You know what it is saying…follow it.
Trust God from the bottom of your heart; Don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; He’s the one who will keep you on track. Proverbs 3:5-6 (The Message)
What was my heart saying? First and foremost, I need to be surrounded by individuals who are ‘wrecked for the ordinary’ – a body of believers that couples prayer with action. A body that believes in each other and encourages each other to pursue their dreams, visions and passion. A body that embraces diversity found in the ‘image of God’. This led me to stay aboard with Adventures in Missions. This step seemed almost like a no-brainer. (below: my sister and I)

My role with AIM: continuing to discover my identity in Christ while radically pursuing my role in the kingdom….running after God-given visions within the context of the body and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. What will this look like? I am joining up with the World Race mobilization crew – aiming to challenge and motivate my generation to truly discover their identity and passions; and hopefully this will involve the World Race! We are taking a few different approaches to ‘jump-start’ our generation. Relationships and adventure are key! One example, a 450 mile bike ride and 20 mile hike in 8 days…I’ll be sharing more soon!
Looking a bit down the road, this fall I hope to be back in Asia on a ‘Luke 10′ jump of faith with 6-12 other individuals! (read Luke 10 or Matt 10 and you’ll get the idea).
As many of you know, the Lord has given me a passion to fight for those whom are caught in the deadly, underground web called human trafficking. Yes, slavery still exists today. My heart beats for justice, so I also hope to be a voice for the voiceless and remove ‘the veil of ignorance’ that may distort our view. Thus, my blog will once again become a voice…and hopefully a bright light in the darkness.
I am asking for your continued support – especially in prayer. Please pray for a generation who is passionate for their Creator and wisdom on how to best reach our peers.
