I want to introduce everyone to my World Race family – Team Nessa. Nessa means “miracle” in Hebrew and we are believing in faith that God IS going to work in miraculous ways and perform miracles on this trip. To read the stories of my teammates and to get a broader view of what the Lord is doing in and through our team, please read their blogs also: Scott and Linnea Molgard, Shawna Spratt, Amanda Dums, Tana Turner and myself. (Tim Weisemann is an excellent photographer and is hopping aboard with the media team.)  We are on the top of Plaza de las Cruces at the Mayan Ruins.

So, after days of training, today my team headed into town to do some prayerwalking. After making small talk for the first few minutes, we unified together in prayer. As we walked towards the center of town, each of us started to intercede for the people of Palenque and for direction in ministry for the upcoming days. I could literally feel the presence of the Holy Spirit descending upon us as we proclaimed freedom for individuals in Jesus name. Then, behind me, I heard one of my teammates cry out. I turned around and she was laying on the ground. We all gathered around her and laid hands on her ankle (she twisted her ankle) and prayed for healing. After a few minutes she was able to walk on it and we continued towards town as she wanted to “walk it off”.

According to Seth Barnes “We are not physical beings having a temporary spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a temporary physical experience.” I have been blinded to the spiritual world for way to long – contributing a lot of those “ironic” experiences as strange coincidences. But God is beginning to open my eyes to the spiritual world. There is a battle raging around us all the time. It becomes more apparent in areas where the people worship evil spirits.

“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:11-12

It was at the pinnacle of our team prayer that one of our teammates fell. Our prayers were literally combating with the evil spirits in the spiritual world. We were a threat and thus Satan tried to distract us. This is not just for play. The battle is for REAL! They have been preparing us in training and equipping us for this battle. We have entered the battle and there is no turning back. Please pray that Team Nessa would continue to walk in the authority and power of Jesus Christ as we not only intercede for, but literally place a claim (in Jesus name) on nations across the world. Battles still have to be fought, but the war has been won. AND WE WIN!

(I would love to hear responses to what you think about this blog and your thoughts on the spiritual battle being fought all around us)
