Before leaving Peru, we have had some amazing, breathtaking days “off” enjoying God’s creation and each other.

Lake Llanganuco – High up in the Andes.

Polar bearing in the glacier water.  The first jump wasn’t that bad, the second time I could no longer feel my body!

The day before we left the mountains, a handful of us
hiked up Mt. Hurascuaran.  After living in it’s shadow for a month, we wanted a view from “the top”.  We made it to the snow line – 15,500ft – in about 5 1/2 hours.

View from about midway up the mountain.  Below: Amy and I…

Below:  When we arrived at our ultimate destination – el refugio – God rewarded us with a brilliant rainbow…God’s covenent to His people!

Below:  Yeah, to reach the top – 22,000ft – it would have been another 2 day hike!  Maybe next time!

Horseback riding through the Incan Ruins outside of Cuzco.  My horse – flicka (I named her) – and me.

While horseback riding, we took a break to go cave exploring.  Some places were a definite tight squeeze!

Ummm…So, I”ve been told that my animal look alike is a llama?  Any truth to that?

We are currently debriefing in Cuzco, Peru.  Tomorrow we head to one of the 7 wonders of the world – Macchu Picchu!  I’ll send pictures your way as soon as I can.
