OK – so I have a long way to go…
Man enters coffee shop. Stands in front of an American girl. She is typing on her laptop. Listening to her music on her head phones. Coffee close at hand.
He stares.
She knows he is staring, yet keeps on typing.

Last night, over a steaming bowl of soup, she had it right. The greatest need is to be noticed.
Yet, today she has forgotten. He stands staring. She continues to type. He stands there longer. She gets a bit uncomfortable.
He turns away. Once again un-noticed.
She looks up.
Her soul cries – You hypocrite.
Why Lord? She offends herself.
Chance two enters, not even five minutes later. Jesus hasn’t given up on her.
This time candy is offered. Strawberry Yogurt Suak. The boy knows the truth.
Lure them in. There needs to be a catch.
They will not notice me. But candy? Yes, they will not ignore candy.
He comes closer. You hypocrite. It echoes in her heart. It rings true.
She digs into her pocket, revealing 2 soles. 66 cents American. At least she gets candy.
But what does the boy get? 2 soles…
…but that’s not really what he wants.
He wants her. Not her exactly. But her attention.
She didn’t even take off her headphones.
The inward battle rages on. At least there’s a battle? -Right?
She is a shattered little girl.
A broken one…
