I'm sorry that I’m behind on my blogs! A storm messed up the wifi here, and I haven’t had Internet for about a week. I want to update you on what’s been going on this past week!
On Tuesday, I was on a local tv show! My friend Laura was giving a testimony on air, and Micah and I went on to answer questions about the World Race. So cool! We were told that it was a kid’s program, but it ended up being a program for teenagers/young adults. It also aired live, all over the city of Santa Ana. I was nervous, but so excited! I was definitely cheesing it on air, and I thought we did a good job!

The next morning, we put on a program at a local school and sang songs with motions, gave a testimony, and did a couple dramas. Our team did an Adam and Eve drama to the Evanescence song “Bring Me to Life”. (Our camera battery ran out during the performance, but I will upload the performance when I can!)
On Thursday we went out of town for a small retreat. This was our first day off all month. We went to a place with waterfalls that were so beautiful and we could swim in the crystal clear waters! We left after that and went to a local beach. It was so cool because it was my first visit to the Pacific Ocean. It was also a black sand beach, which I had never been to. It was too cool! The water was so warm, and the waves were big to swim in! Ah, I love the beach! Perfect retreat.

Then it was back to reality coming home on Friday night. My team nominated me to give my testimony at church that night only an hour after we got back. It was going to be my first time, but I was cool with it. I felt at peace because I have had so much practice giving my testimony in Africa last year. Thanks John 😉
On Saturday we went to a local prison to attend a weekly service they had. They needed two testimonies, so my teammates Travis and Micah gave theirs. Oh, and apparently I have a boyfriend there now. I smiled politely at a prisoner to be nice when he kept looking at our section. Apparently that was too much. He left to go get paper so he could have my name and address so we could write each other…Um, No! Luckily, he doesn’t speak English, so he spoke to another girl next to me who did speak Spanish. She did understand him, but she played dumb like she didn’t know very much. Later she told me that he asked how I would feel about having a boyfriend in El Salvador who didn’t speak English. He also said I was beautiful and precious, then winked and walked away. Haha! Oh my. My team definitely won’t let me live that down!
On Sunday we had church in the morning and night. (We have church every single night, all in Spanish, and never a translator.) On Monday we were supposed to paint, but never did so we made a music video instead…I will post it as soon as it’s edited!
So, that’s basically my week in a nutshell! I’m loving my life, growing in God, and am about to move on to our next country in a week!
