Facts:
-Population: 33.7 million
-Capital: Kampala
-Languages: English, Swahili
-66 people groups
-9% unreached
-Religion: 84% "Christian," 37% Evangelical
Ministry:
-The northern region of Uganda has been plagued by the Lord's Resistance Army. Work in this area would linclude ministring to those who have been affected by this terrible group and helping meet needs both physical and spiritual.
-If my team is placed in the southern region, we will partner with churches in their evangelistic outreaches.
-James 1:27 says, "Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world." My team will live this out in Uganda by caring for the many orphans and widows the AIDS epidemic has created.
Pray:
-Due to the unrest in the North, the needs in Uganda are great. Pray that many relief workers will come to this country to lift burdens and spread the Gospel.
-Islam and animistic tribal religions are on the rise. Pray that the Lord will cause this growth to be haulted and many will turn him as their Savior.
-Pray that my squad will know how to truly love those we encounter in this country no matter what circumstances we may face.
