At training camp, we were told to not be surprised if our route was to be changed, little did we know that we would learn of a route change that week. The night before we left the United States we learned of yet another change! Due to some exciting opportunities for the World Race and some safety concerns, we have had four country changes for our race. Here is my new (and hopefully final) route!
September – China
October – Thailand
November – Cambodia
December – Malaysia
January – Japan
My squad will be the first that the World Race has ever sent to this country. One of our squad leaders has connections with a ministry in Osaka and will be working with them once he leaves the Race after this month. Due to this connection, we are able to pioneer the Race to Japan!
February – Albania
March – Bulgaria
April – Romania
May – Turkey
We are very excited to get to spend an extra month in Europe. With the addition of this country, we are also getting another month of interacting with a Muslim culture. Islam has become increasingly dominant in this nation where Christianity once flourished.
June – Swaziland
This tiny country in southern Africa is home to one of the world’s highest HIV-positive populations. Unfortunately, if this epidemic is not stopped, Swaziland will soon become extinct. This nation desperately needs the freedom that can only come from Christ.
July – South Africa
This nation is one of much diversity. The population is a mixture of native Africans and descendants of the Europeans who colonized this are for many years. Though many claim Christianity as their religion, even more are still in need of a Savior.
