Hello everyone I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and New Year, mine obviously was more different than it has ever been, Christmas was spent in the Panama heat, for the first time ever I didn’t have to wear pants at Christmas and we took part in some Panamanian traditions. New Years was spent in the LAX airport after a flight from Costa Rica to El Salvador then landed in LAX at 11:30om, we brought it in as a squad then had a twelve hour layover before heading to Hong Kong and the Philippines. I spent the Chinese/Pilipino New Year in Costa Rica, Ohio in the air, and California’s in an airport.

Now after 5 days of travel to get here we are finally in Aninuan Philippines we had to take a bus and boat from Manila to get here it’s on the island of Mandoro (I think). This month we are working with Threads of Hope, if you bought a bracelet from me, so I could go on this journey that is where they come from.

Threads of Hope started by an obedient man of God named Alex, when him and his wife were on Vacation, they are missionaries in Manila. He saw a lady making bracelets to help provide for her family, he gave her $100 dollars and told her he would be back for the bracelets, not even sure if he would see her again or the money again. Later when he returned and found her on the beach she had 1,300 bracelets made for him he didn’t know what to do with all these bracelets. When he went back to the states he sold these bracelets at a local fair, making $1,000 dollars in one day, unbelievable right? Well it gets better.

Alex knew this money wasn’t his, it didn’t belong to him, it was the Lords and he seeked him and what the Lord wanted him to do with it. Alex felt God tell him, return and give that money to more ladies to make bracelets and continue to sell them. These bracelets are only sold for one dollar and they are paid by the amount of bracelets they sell, so the amount they make is up to them on how much they want to be paid. These bracelets are now providing women with money to keep them out of the sex trafficking industry, these little threads of string are proving hope for an island.

Today Alex has 500 woman making bracelets, some have left and others have started, some fall back into the sex industry, however all of them hear about the love of Jesus and the Hope He can provide them with, how He will provide for their every need! Most of the woman are active with the church that Alex helped build and works with the pastor (Pastor al, who we are staying with) . These bracelets are being sold throughout the country thousands a month because one man listened to the calling God had for him. Obviously I can’t speak this man’s heart, so watch the video about threads of Hope, I can say I am personally honored and blessed beyond belief to be working with Threads of Hope.
