Did you know that the largest market is the sex slave market, it is going on all around us, and it is occurring because we ignore it. Even as you drive down the streets of Dayton Ohio, woman are being rapped and no one is helping them, prostitutes are walking the streets, illegal activity is happening before our eyes and we are blind to seeing it, it scares us, its harsh, we don’t know how to stop it, so we fear stopping it. I have a friend who works at the Montgomery county jail working with cases like this, so as much as I’d love to make this up, this stuff is truly happening and the worst part, it happens daily all over America and the nation. While traveling around the nation the one thing that has truly captured my heart is social justice. My heart breaks for woman, children, and men who are trafficked unwillingly.
However it doesn’t just stop with human trafficking because beyond trafficking, 1/3 of woman have been sexually abused sometime in their lives, whether by a complete stranger or even someone as close as a family member. Statistics show that 90% of prostitutes were molested as little girls and it is said that “incest is boot camp for prostitution”. I don’t know about you but this issue shatters my heart, my heart cries out for the people who have to live life like this and suffer unwillingly, they want an escape but cannot find one. No one not even the ‘worst people’ in the world should have to live in such a way, a way of entrapment. Or even be forced into something that they don’t want to do, to be beaten, threatened, and taken advantage of. However there is still hope for all of these people children, women, and men who are trafficked, forced into prostitution, or even going into prostitution thinking there is no other hope for their lives, they are still worthy and shouldn’t have to live in constant fear or shame for the rest of their lives, thinking they are someone’s sex slave and will never be anything more.
I want to reach out to these people. I want to raise human trafficking awareness. The Lord has really placed girls particularly on my heart especially youth girls and I want to reach out to them. Show them there is light beyond this darkness. They no longer have to be fearful living in shame because of their past. Recently I was told of a girl I know who was being raped, this girl is living in fear and no one believes her and I want her to know she is incredibly loved; I am here for her to help her and listen to her. And show her that she is special, there is so much more to life and she doesn’t have to be fearful the Lord loves her. There is hope beyond the cross, I don’t want girls to grow up thinking they will never be good enough because that is nothing but lies. I want to let them know how incredibly special they are, loved, adored, chosen and how they can be anything they want to be they don’t have to think they are never good enough or worthy enough for anyone, I want to proclaim who they are over them and help them through life, encourage them and be there for them and make sure at a young age they know they never have to sell their bodies for anyone, that God loves them and with Him they can be anything they want and he will provide them with strength. I want to invest and love on girls like these I want these girls to break their chains and to walk in freedom; I want to provide them with guidance and help. I want to see a stop to injustice! I don’t want to see girls scared because of their past, I want to open people’s eyes to human trafficking, and I don’t want to see any girl suffer I want her to be open and honest! No woman should be viewed the way they are by others, they are worthy of more and they are beautiful daughters of God and they should see themselves like that to. I know I can’t change the world but I can make a huge difference for such a huge issue! These girls are like white doves they are pure and white as snow through Christ and they can fly around in freedom like a dove, to go after their dreams and like doves have their eyes set on one thing and not be able to get distracted by the many things going on around them.
