Hello El Salvador, Goodbye Guatemala

Hello from El Salvador

We made it safely and had an interesting travel day to say the least, we woke up Wednesday, packed, went to the store, got lots of snacks, soda, and water for the trip then made PB&j’s loaded up our van world race style and took off.

Five minutes into the trip our driver left and his friend who was a passenger drove and another friend got in. border crossing was a breeze praise God, we learned to carry extra cash with us because they like to make the Americans pay.. surprise. We got into El Salvador and had two hours left our drivers friend got out and a new one got in. we made it to San Salvador but had an adventure because we got lost, we couldn’t find where we were supposed to meet our contact, we drove by it like five times though haha. Welcome to the world race.

We made it, got a tour of the church, went to teen challenge, where we will do most of our work and met basically everyone. Teen challenge is a rehab center where guys of all ages from 15-33 or higher will come to quit their addiction. .they came freely and stay a year. They come from the streets addicted to drugs and alcohol or other things. They sell bread, cookies, and shirts Monday through Friday to raise money for the organization. We will be helping with all these tasks every night, they have church for an hour worship and the word.

We will also be visiting children’s hospitals with cancer kids. Evangelizing, talking at churches, feeding the homeless, working at orphanages, helping in the kitchen, and sports ministry were all really looking forward to it.

Oh p.s. I also hiked Pacaya volcano in Guatemala with my squad Tuesday Amazing!! I am still kind of sore it kicked my butt but I got   to roast marshmallows over lava and they were the best ever!! How many times can you say that in your life J
