“Green Bay took the ball back with just over 7 minutes left, and found themselves facing third down and 10 after two plays, but Rodgers kept the drive going with a 31-yard completion to Jennings over the middle. Starks then ran 14 yards to the Steelers 30. Two plays later, James Jones caught a 21-yard pass at the 8. The Steelers defense kept Green Bay out of the end zone, causing them to settle for Mason Crosby‘s 23-yard field goal that gave Green Bay a 31-25 lead with 2:07 left in regulation.

Pittsburgh got the ball back on their own 13-yard line following a penalty on the kickoff. On their first play, Roethlisberger completed a 15-yard pass to Miller. But after a 5-yard reception by Ward, his next three passes were incomplete, turning the ball over and allowing the Packers to run out the rest of the clock”

25-31 Packers woohoo.

We hustle down Bangla road, dodge left, swing right, time out, put on our armor of God o, pray for the spirits guidance, clocks ticking, here we go again, down the road, scooters on our right, tuk tuk honking at us on our left, passing people who are stumbling down the road, wiggle our way through the crowds, avoid the crowd going to the boxing match, ignore distractions around us, have our eye on the ball, the goal is in sight, 13 more yards, push through, God we need strength, people pulling us left and right, cheering for us as we walk in.. ahh finally the endzone. We had victory, we controlled the clock now.

As we stand in the end zone we hear cheering, and a man yell SUPER BOWL!! Yeah, super bowl cool, but you’re three days late on the cheering. The game was yesterday not today. Then we hear, where are you ladies from?!?

So our football fan was named Gary, and as you can guess, though I am a huge Cleveland Browns fan which means I am stoked the packers beat the Steelers this blog really has nothing to do with a football game or my awful description of our football play down Bangla ha. but it did all start will a man yelling Super Bowl to us as we walked through a bar to see where God was leading us, God has a funny way of calling us somewhere. .

We talked to Gary briefly, he asked where we were from, he is from NY and has been here about 16 years, then he asked if we wanted a drink, it was on him.. sure why not?.. three cokes please J

We sat down next to Gary, and got to know him some, his past, and his life now, what he is doing here ect. But something even more special happened then getting to know this man’s heart who calls the girls at the bar sexy, babe, beautiful, and showering them with money. This guy was obviously interested in a girl while he was there, he just met her, and already adored her, got her whatever she wanted, and numbed her with alcohol, and was very touchy with her. But when we arrived she left him and fleed behind the bar.

I wanted to get to know this innocent girl, a girl who looked like she had a story to tell, a girl who just wanted to be loved, laugh, and play games. She didn’t want to be consumed by this man, or dance on the pole. She just wanted a friend.

Here I am God, let us become friends, I want to love this girl in a way you would love her, I want to place the crown of beauty on her head, show her that true love isn’t in these men but in you, and that she is loved and adored by a father, I want her to know there is a way out, and you can provide double what any bar or man could.

As I sat at the bar breaking down all barriers laughing, having fun, and playing a game of four in a row, I got to ask this girl questions, I got to dig deep into her life and see her heart, who she was and why she was here. while this was happening Julie and Jessica were talking with Gary.

What is your name?

She answers Hope (name was changed for security reasons)

Awwh very pretty I like it.

Where are you from?

A town east of Bangkok

How long have you been working at the bar?

Three months

Do you enjoy it?

No not at all, but I have to make money..

Then why are you here?

I was sent by my family to make money

So here is a girl trapped, a girl who was forced into this job and can’t get out, a girl who is only 24 and has a hope and future ahead of her, but every Sunday she must send money home to her family and she only sees about 5%-10% of the money, this is a girl who wants out. She only gets one day off a month, and makes $40.00 a month seeing only a few of those dollars. She is hit on by men every night, she is approached, pursued, and inappropriately touched, and numbed with alcohol. She is a girl who is seeking more than a life behind bars. She is just a girl, someone with a huge heart, a girl like you and I, a girl who needs a friend and someone to poor life into her.

That night she knew I wasn’t there to buy her, she knew I didn’t want to drowned her with alcohol, or take her home, she knew I just wanted to love her, and be her friend so we made plans to hang out that Saturday, a day that would change my life and hers forever.

This story is about two weeks old, sorry for the delay.

1 The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,[a]
2 to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion-
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
   instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
   instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
   a planting of the LORD
for the display of his splendor.

4 They will rebuild the ancient ruins
   and restore the places long devastated;
they will renew the ruined cities
that have been devastated for generations

Isaiah 61:1-4
