“God must really love you” were the words that were said to me when The man at the airport gave me back my phone. To hear this story I have to back track a bit.
As we got on the plane to head to Albania.
I started looking for my phone, so that I could take a picture of the view from my window seat.
I was super excited about sitting by the window because it was the first time since being on the race.
My phone……. is missing…… Oh no…… How am I going to take pictures now????? Oh wait I still have a camera. These are just a few of the thoughts that went through my head.
Sitting there wondering what am I going to do????? I look out the window and just started focusing on the site set before my eyes. In complete wonder at everything that God is.
When we take off the site is absolutely to die for, I mean the colors of the sunrise were crazy beautiful and a part of me was mad that I lost my phone to begin with, but even if I could have taken pictures they would have never captured the true beautiful of the moment.
Clouds piled on top of clouds as far as the eye could see. I love the sky and this day I had never been so thankful for have the pleasure of getting to fly through it.
While we were flying over the piles of clouds I started thanking God for the amazing creation he made and sharing it with me, and I started telling him how cool it would be to see the mountains pecking out of the top of the clouds, or a small opening in the clouds to see whatever was underneath.
Sure enough God revealed all that and more. I got super excited about the pecks that were sticking out of the clouds and even more excited when there were more mountains, and even more excited when all the clouds had disappeared and all you could see was mountains. The roads looked more like veins, and there were even shiny rooftops in little patches all through out the mountains.
Fast forward a bit. I was telling the girls on my team how much I wished I hadn't lost my phone because I lost my calculator for my treasurer stuff, and how I had a dream that I found it in my coat pocket. Which it wasn't there I checked……
I got on my computer to start a blog about the flight,
Checked my email and Holy Cow you wouldn't believe it
I got an email from the airline asking if I lost something. They had found my phone and sent me an email to make sure it was mine. Talk about how good God is.
Fast forward again to the day I went to pick up my phone.
First of all let me say that I don't handle things very well when I know what I'm talking about but talking to someone who doesn't speak much English.
So I got a little bit frustrated when I kept hearing 'We don't have your phone'
I had to take a break before I started yelling at people.
I'm thankful for Lauren who was with me and calmly got the message across a lot better then I did.
The woman behind the Turkish airline counter 'kindly' made a phone call after we gave her the reference number I had gotten.
About five minutes later this man came walking down the steps and straight to the Turkish airline lady and I said to Lauren 'that's not my phone' – because he was carrying an envelope – as soon as I said that he pulled out my phone.
We walked over to him. He asked for my passport and asked me when I contacted the airline about my missing phone, because there wasn't any record of my calling. I told him how I got the email and I hadn't thought about it then, because I figured someone stole it.
He said 'God must really love you, because people call in looking for there missing phones all the time and never get them back. And you got contacted about your phone by us'
So Yeah I got my phone back even though I could live just fine without it. The point of this blog is that God does love me and it's so awesome to have some I have never met claim that over my life.
And I love how God proves it to me every day.
Prayer Request:
I got an email about parents week. Please pray that the funds come in so my parents can come visit me.
Pray for the drive and passion to explode out of each of us.
