Have you ever met that person? You know……. The kind of person that you just can't put your finger on it but it's like they have this secret fire burning inside of them. That everything they touch in affected by that fire. That person who is walking with Jesus as one. And it's like nothing bothers them. At all…. You could be the meanest person a live and they will still bend over backwards to make sure you feel loved. I'm not talking about people pleasers. I'm talking about that person that you know they are doing things from a different place. Not selfish at all. And they are so passionate about Christ it's almost unreal.
You know that kind of person? Have you seen that kind of fire?
Here's the thing though. That fire that we often hear about changes peoples lives.
That fire……. If you are a Christian it automatic. From the second you become a follower of Christ. There is a fire that is placed inside of you and it's your job to tap into that fire.
Matthew 5:14 You are the light of the world – like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.
John 1:5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.
We are the light of the world and darkness can never put it out.
So Raise up you Christians. Now is the time to decide where your heart will be. Now is the time to make that life changing decision.
Who will you serve? What will your focus be?
One thing that I have had to learn over and over is that Everyday you have a choice to be everything that God created you to be or to do your own thing.
Sure doing your own thing is fine; but you will never know what you are missing out on if you just keep doing your own thing.
I have tasted and seen that the Lord is good.
Once you taste God and everything he has to offer nothing can satisfy your every need. It's impossible to fill that void yourself.
Luke 14:33 So you cannot become my disciple without giving up everything you own.
What is your everything?
I have thought about this a lot. Where do you place your trust? What is your focus?
Matthew 6:21 Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.
Romans 6:16 Don't you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living.
Matthew 6:33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
Romans 14: 17 For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Romans 12:2 Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
So what do you choose? The time is now….. To be a fire that can't be put out no matter what happens or to go on about your own life doing it your way?
Those are your choices. You can't serve two masters. Choose one way or the other.
Be on fire or go completely cold.
Remember this, When people choose to withdraw far from a fire, the fire continues to give warmth, but they grow cold. When people choose to withdraw far from the light, the light continues to be bright in itself but they are in darkness. This is also the case when people withdraw from God. -Augustine-
Jeremiah 20:9 But if I say I'll never mention the Lord or speak in his name, his word burns in my heart like a fire. It's like a fire in my bones! I am worn out trying to hold it in! I can't do it!
To have such a fire focused on God that nothing can stand in my way. A fire so strong that it consumes everything in it's path. To be so on fire that there is no questioning who I stand for.
How about you? Do you want everything that God has for you? Are you willing to join me in setting a focused fire for the Kingdom of God?
