Dear Reader,

Were you affected by Haiti?

Maybe you don’t have the physical scars from the rubble, or your home didn’t crumble on it’s foundation, but did you sigh a sigh of relief that your family was safe, or say a quick prayer of gratitude for the food and roof over your head instead of a tarp.  Maybe there was a story that touched your heart on the news like the survivor who was pulled out of the rubble 14 days after the quake.

Haiti captured the world’s attention with this disaster, and my guess is it caught yours too.  But it’s only been four months since the earthquake, and we’re not finished yet. There are more lives that are waiting to be touched, encouraged, and changed.

I am heading down to Haiti at the end of May, and can only speculate what God has planned for my time there.  But I do know that I will come back with stories of how God is showing his love for his people down there.

Stories like that of the girl’s orphanage with 46 young girls.  Normally on a day like the day of the earthquake, they would be in the building, seeking reprieve from the afternoon heat.  But on that day, they were in the field, welcoming and taking care of a baby infant boy that had been left on their doorstep. None of them were hurt or injured.  Call it luck, call it chance, I call it God’s covering of protection.

Or what about the story of Evansbord?  A young boy who was crippled and mute from the time he was a baby, but was just baptized by our team that is there now.  He is now moving and doing things he has never been able to do before.

The journey of recovery in Haiti is long and far from complete.  Voodoo and witchcraft have been an integral part of this countries culture and the need for life necessities is still great.  I’m going to be a part of the recovery and invite you to join with me as a part of the healing process.  God doesn’t expect everyone to drop their lives and head down to Haiti, but he does ask that you give from the things he has blessed you with.  I’m in need of $5486 to support my trip to Haiti and to finish the rest of my internship at AIM.  Would you prayerfully consider supporting me in this ministry?  I only need ten people to commit $50 per month and ten people to commit to $100 per month for the next three months and five people to give one-time gifts of $200 or more, and I will reach my goal.  Please seek God’s guidance in this decision and click the support me tab on the left side of the menu bar to give to this ministry.

Thank you and God Bless,
Steph Connors
