It never ceases to amaze me how God lavishes us with blessings.  Even when things seem impossible, or like we don’t even deserve it, his plans just always work out so well.

Team Crux spent June in Budapest, Hungary, at a pregnancy crisis center called Shout For Life.  Our contacts, Ed and Susan founded the center back in 2002.  Ed, from Holland, and Susan, a Budapest native, were both heavily involved in missions before establishing the center.  After they married in 1999, they spent 9 months serving in.  It was during this time that they got a heart for aborted children and the women who are unexpectedly faced with these decisions.

With humble beginnings in a spare Calvary Chapel counseling room, Ed and Susan started meeting with pregnant women searching for answers.  By God’s doing, enough funding came in to really establish a small office in a flat in downtown Budapest.  They resided there for five years, growing the business.  This is where we come in.

The start of our month corresponded with the pregnancy’s centers big move.  They were getting a bigger office-almost three times bigger, and were in the midst of many transitions in the center. When we first arrived at the original office, it was cramped, cluttered, and was in complete disarray (prior to any packing).  Ed and Susan also recently stepped down as the directors in order to devote more attention to their four recently adopted children.

Our first week was an exhausting one.  From morning until late at night we packed, carried heavy things down a flight of stairs, only to carry them back up another flight in the new office.  It took about three days to complete, and that was just the moving.  The rest of the month was spent organizing and renovating the new office and offering babysitting so Ed and Susan could catch a much-needed break.

Ed and Susan consistently reminded us how much of a blessing we were to them, and how it was so God’s timings for us to come when we did.  Not only was God giving them this beautiful new building they thought they could never afford, but also the help in a real time of need.  Ed and Susan and all the volunteers at the center know that they are an integral part of God’s plan.  He is faithful in all things and Shout For Life Pregnancy Center has truly seen that truth in his constant blessings.
