Christmas is a hard time for World Racers. Not only are they away from family and
friends, but they are away from the whole atmosphere of traditions and festive decor too. Further, we will still be on the field
serving Christmas day, so we will not even get to celebrate together until
debrief at the end of the month!
In spite of all of this, G-squad as put together a team to
plan a Christmas to remember in Kenya.
We are planning a Christmas feast, carols, presents, a tree, and as many home
traditions from each racer as possible!!
But we need YOUR help!
This was not budgeted in the support raising that each racer
did. So we need some Christmas gifts!!!
If every racer received $10-$20, we can make this
happen! I know many want to send packages
filled with Christmas presents and goodies, but since we cannot receive
packages, this is the next best thing.
So here’s the plan. Because this is not a part of support, we CANNOT simply have AIM collect
the money. John Linkous’ parents,
however, have agreed to collect the money for us. If you could send a check made out to Gene Linkous, with “World Race
Christmas” in the note, he will then wire us the money at the end of the
month.

Please note, we will only use what is absolutely necessary
to finance our Christmas. Any remainder
will be saved and used for the next holiday celebration: EASTER! Also note that because this is not support
raising it is not tax deductible.
