Everything has a beginning.

I never thought about it, but God’s grace started from the beginning of our lives. I think that the very reason that we are even born unto this world is because of God’s grace. In Psalm 139:13 it says: “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb,” and to me this verse is saying that His grace has been there, from the beginning to the end.

But we get caught up so easily in the routine of our days; we wake up, brush our teeth, fix some breakfast, go to your 9-5 typical job, get back, get a dinner, watch a movie, and go to bed. Perhaps your routine is a little different than this, but I’m sure you can relate somehow.  Have you ever had this feeling that your days are pointless? That whatever you do in your daily life just doesn’t work out for you and you can’t get out or change it. I’ve had that feeling many times, and for the most part, I let myself forget that God is there with me.

I remember God’s grace in the time of hardship.

There was a time of my life when I felt so alone, as if there’s nobody out there for me who has my back. There was a time when I was rejected by my family because of my faith. It hurts so deeply and I started to believe in lies that they told me. There was a time when I felt hopeless because I let the desires of my flesh take control and I felt like a piece of dirty rag. There was a time…

Then God’s grace covered all of those failures.

Even when I didn’t realize it, God’s grace has been there, redeeming unconditionally, and fully given to me. Even when I run away from it, God never gives up. He finds me anyway.

People say that we can feel God’s presence more in the time of hardship. I must agree with that, but I think we can feel God’s grace abundantly in times of joy and celebration. It’s because of what God has done through his Son Jesus that we can be joyful and free. The grace that comes out of Jesus’ death on the Cross resulted in the outburst of transformation for everyone who believes. The hopeless find hope, tears turns to laughter, and sleepers awaken.

It’s a celebration.

It’s equal; God sees no rich or poor when it comes to grace. It’s there for the beggars on the street and for the kings that live in palaces. It’s there for Mother Teresa and for Adolf Hitler. His great grace covers every corner of this earth.

It’s there for me and for you. Rejoice! Let us sing praises to our God.

All the earth worships you and sings praises to you; they sing praises to your name.”
