We’ve all been there before, wondering “is what I’m doing what God wants me to be doing?” The truth is, you never know! I wish I could tell you that God’s going to write it out for you in plain and simple terms and that there’s going to be a day you just know what you’re supposed to do with your life. But I can’t.

This is how I see it, God has a couple of paths picked out for you. On one path there’s your calling and what He wants you to put your all into, it’s a path of “what if?” and “are you sure?” but it’s definitely the most rewarding path. On the other, however, there’s a longer, more emotionally draining, and more appealing path that includes all sorts of hurts and heartbreaks. You’ll get back onto the path God wants you on eventually, just after a few turns in the wrong direction. I’ve been there, heck I was there just a little bit ago! But then I found a new path. This path led me directly to The World Race.

I’ve known about the World Race for a while now, I remember texting my youth Pastor’s wife my junior year of high school and being like “I want to do this please tell me everything you know about it!” I wasn’t the student super ahead of the game with SAT scores and college applications filled out. I was really just looking for something easy, something doable and that something easy wasn’t going to be a big university or year long mission trip (as much as I wanted it to be).

Since graduating in May of last year I have been attending the community college close to where I live. I’ve definitely enjoyed it for the most part and the people there are great but I’ve always felt like I settled for the easiest route. Sitting here now, writing this blog post, I feel as if I am finally putting my all into something. It’s crazy what your heart gets set on, especially at the most random times.

On my application journey so far I’ve learned that…

1. Asking for money from your friends and family is so hard but sometimes they really want to help! A special shout out to my grandma, Linda, for calling me and making sure I send her a letter! Love you grandma.

2. You’ll go through your busy days forgetting that you have all of these things to fill out in preparation but when you sit down to get it done, you’ll realize you like writing about the things they’re asking you to write about and it makes doing it 100x better!

3. Prayers are your best friend. You’re probably thinking, duh they should always be your best friend. Let me tell you, I mean praying about EVERYTHING. “Lord please tell me I remembered to put the actual letter inside the envelope before I sealed it with an expensive stamp already stuck and definitely not moving??” or “Heavenly Father, are you sure you want me to do this mission trip? It sure is a lot of money and I was really hoping to get my nails done this week” – totally kidding, but you get the point 🙂

Those are just a few things I have run into so far during my journey. There will definitely be more!

I just wanted to take some time to let you guys know, I’m hanging in there with the help of all of you! The support, prayers, and donations are so appreciated and I am so grateful for everyone’s part in this adventure of mine.

Talk to ya next time!

Sincerely,

Stef
