Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Hey friends and fam!

Currently at the Fort Lauderdale airport on a 3 hour layover. We got to the Atlanta airport around 9AM (EST) and hung out until 7PM (our departure time) because a couple of the other teams had earlier flights.

It has been such an amazing adventure already. I’ve learned so much about my teammates and am growing to love each of them individually.

Morgan is fluent in sign language and can interpret (which we will have a chance to do)
Josh has eaten dog (???? I don’t know the context of this story yet lol)
Aliyah has a little tree tattoo on her finger
Ashleigh is terribly scared of spiders
Aubrey has been a vegetarian her whole life
Erin has cute dinosaur socks (she’s also so cute awe love her)
Halston just moved to Jacksonville, FL from Kansas
Maddy lived in Israel for a couple of years
Natalie sounds like a yoga instructor and her voice is so soothing to listen to
Shelby is from Minnesota and says bag really funny, I love it
Sienna can do cornrows on people
Noah is a Buckeye fan (O H)
Mack and I are both ENFJ’s
April is really good at Egyptian rat screw (a card game)
Isaac wants to be a pilot in the Air Force
Anna does worship at her church and is really musically talented
Rylee started a business at 15
Tye is from Canada and also says bag weird, “Eh!”

These are my people for the next three months. We have known each other for a little over 4 days (although it feels like forever) and I could not be more excited to learn about what makes them tick.

So of course everyone is from all around the States (except Tye) we all have different words or pronunciation for certain things, being “bag” vs. “beg” or in this instance, “otter pops” vs. “popsicles;” it’s turned into this funny big deal where we’ve asked strangers because obviously, “popsicles” are superior. Anyways, learning these fun little things about my teammates has been so much fun and it’s just so cool how people with all of these differences have come together for the best similarity you can have with someone; loving Jesus and saying YES!

I’m about to board a 2 1/2 hour flight to Nicaragua then a 3 hour bus ride to our ministry location so I’m signing off for now but I will see y’all in Nicaragua (kinda, blog-wise)!

Goodbye America!

Sincerely,

Stef
