What does heaven look like to you? It is easy to get focused on the negative things going on in the world. You only have to have the T.V on for a couple minutes to hear about some tragedy that has happened somewhere in the world and it is easy to get overwhelmed and disheartened by the amount of bad in this world. However, God is very much alive and at work and as easy as it is to see satan and the results of sin in the world it is just as easy to see God’s hand. To me personally I see God most clearly in the faces of other people and I see glimpses of heaven through people I have interacted with. Whether it be celebrating monuments like a birth, grad or a wedding or through children playing on a playground for the first time or children smiling because you took some time to hang out with them it is not hard to see glimpses of heaven around me. Even in situations that seem so hopeless like a dumpsite or the streets of Manilla, even or maybe especially in these situations Jesus is present. He is holding his children and he wants to invade earth. I want to be seeking and open to ways that Jesus wants to use me to bring his glory and healing hand to the nations and I want to continually be searching for glimpses of heaven on this earth. I am amazed at how much God just loves his children and wants to show that love in such personal ways. Each person experiences God differently, for me personally God reveals himself most clearly through nature and through other people. I don’t know how to put it in words so I will use pictures to show some of the glimpses of heaven I have seen.
Through celebrating the beautiful Through climbing mountains and exploring God’s
gift of marriage with friends creation
Through the innocence and joy of children who just desperately want to be loved and given attention
Through friends who are always there to laugh with, cry with, go on adventures and just do life together
Through the amazing people I have met in past missions trips
which leave me so excited as I anticipate the race and all the
people that God will touch my life with.
