I’ve struggled to put words to this past year of my life. Most people know I’ve been leading two different World Race squads back-to-back since January (shout out to M & Q Squads!)
Leading this amount of people has been the grandest thing God has ever called me to (yet!) My biggest responsibility and greatest joy has been to love these two squads well. They’ve surrendered their homes, their families and their comforts for the call of Jesus on their lives, and through their World Race process, He’s entrusted me to shepherd and disciple them. I’ve been here to pray and intercede for the squad as they’re going through the brokenness that comes with dying to self. I’ve been able to see the fruit as they discover and step into their identities as sons and daughters of the living God. I make sure the team leaders and teams are healthy by spending time and pouring into them. For the peace-lover that I am, it’s often looked like conflict resolution and saying the hard things. It’s looked like some of the most difficult decisions and situations I’ve ever been in. It’s been this back and forth of pushing these squads into challenging situations to cultivate growth and understanding. After all, God cares about our character, not our comfort.
Left: Voices lifted up to Jesus in a house church in a closed country. Right: Loving on the elderly in Vietnam.
Through these 95 racers, hundreds of people in over 20 nations have given their lives to the Lord. Orphans have been met with love and widows with hope. We’ve seen dozens of people healed physically and spiritually. The word of God has been brought to closed off countries and places where sacrifices are still made to little gods. Churches have been edified and strengthened and Holy Spirit has been more active than I could imagine. There are endless stories I could share of how the Kingdom of God has invaded the earth through M & Q Squads!
Left: Me with one of my favorite people alive: Blue. She gave her life to the Lord (on my birthday!) after hearing the gospel from a few girls on M Squad. She used to be a prostitute and victim to sex-trafficking, but now she’s a redeemed daughter of God! Right: Serving a local church in South Africa but pulling thousands of weeds!!
Squad leading over the last 10 months has been the best season of my life. It’s been beautiful, stretching, refining, hard, and so much greater than I could have ever imagined.
I only need to raise $2300 in order to finish my time on the field with these squads. Please be a part of this continual journey by praying and donating financially. As their leader, I’m just a vessel to support and help them grow. There are 95 young people out there, and through your support, you’re empowering an entire generation to radically change nations. That’s the body coming together.
