February has by far been the most difficult month yet for me since being on The World Race. I have had both Malaria and Typhoid fever within the same week. Most of our days have been about 10 hours long full of any mixture of door-to-door evangelizing, visiting schools and hospitals, outdoor crusades, praying for the sick, preaching and singing at churches and showing a film about Jesus’ life to people. Needless to say, I am exhausted.
But I have never in my life seen God as real as I do now. This month alone my team and I have seen over 400 men, women and children give their lives to Jesus. That in itself is beyond amazing! People have literally been delivered of demons when we prayed for them. Read my teammate Ashley’s blog about just one account here.
We’d be sitting in the house relaxing or eating dinner and random people just flocked to us to pray for them. We praise God because just to name a few miracles, we’ve seen four people have their sight restored, and two completely lame people (one of them a child) be able to walk! I prayed for an elderly woman who was hunched over and had extreme back and knee pain. After I finished praying, she stood up straight, gave me a stunned look, and started dancing and laughing and saying “Praise Jesus! Praise Jesus!” God completely healed her! It was the best thing I had ever seen.
Remember the blog I wrote last month about healing and how frustrated I was? Well I still don’t know why God chooses to heal some people and not others, but He is showing me that He loves them and wants them healed even more than I do. What He’s asked me to do is pray for the sick and even if they aren’t healed after that, it’s His problem. I will let God be God.
