When I was in Chiang Mai with M Squad in April, I met and instantly fell in love with Emmi. She’s tiny and hilarious and adorable and all I wanted to do is hug her all the time. However, she would always tell me that Thai people don’t like to touch a lot so she would kindly avert my attempts to squeeze her. Now I’m back here with Q squad this month and I’m happy to say she is loving me well by letting me hug her all the time 🙂
All I want to do in this post is talk about Emmi. She’s our ministry contact here and has a ministry called Lighthouse in Action and her heart is one of the most beautiful I’ve seen throughout the world. It beats to see freedom brought to workers of the commercial sex industry through the love of Jesus. Lighthouse in Action also exists for outreach to the children of local slums and villages, as well as to college students. One of the best parts is that we are living above Zion café, which is also a part of Lighthouse in Action. I can say with confidence that they have the most delicious Thai food and coffee in Chiang Mai.
Emmi has such a powerful story and it’s one I want everyone to know about. God has done so much in her, and continues move through this ministry.
