I cannot believe that in a few hours I will boarding a plane for one last travel day with P Squad. This last month has been absolutely incredible and the Lord has used each of my teammates in ways we never thought would happen. Ending last month in Malawi after working with an amazing host and ministry with his school, I had no idea what this next month would look like. We soon found out that our one squad leader, who has been with us the whole time, was going to be with us for the month. I was so excited to have this time with her and just to be around her so much because I look up to her and how much the Lord speaks to her and she truly listens to Him. I knew that it was going to be an awesome month and way to end the race.
When we arrived in Zambia and met our host, I knew it was going to be a month of seeing the Holy Spirit use us in ways we could not think of and shows us things that would blow our minds. Teresa, our squad leader, told us that the Lord gave her Matthew 8 for the month and how we are the calm in the raging storm that is happening around us. When you look at Matthew 8 there is the story of Jesus healing a man with leprosy, the faith of a roman officer, the healing of many people, Jesus calming the storm, and casting out of demons. Then we found out that our ministry would be traveling around Zambia preaching in churches and house visits. We were going to be living life like the disciples and truly living up to the verse from Matthew 10:8, “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Give as freely as you have received!”
In our first town we were living in a church and spent every morning going on house visits to those around in the village and then in the afternoon we would preach and share testimonies with the church. One morning we were given the option to go to the clinic and I knew instantly that I was to go with that group. We arrive at the clinic and we on into the women’s ward and there were three different ladies in there. I immediately saw one lady whose looked severely injured and knew right then and there that God was going to use me in her story. We went around and talked with the two other ladies and asked what was bothering them and how could we pray for them. Then it was time for me to go over to the other lady and I soon found out that she had been in an ox cart accident that morning where the cart flipped over. She had received serious injuries to her face and her left ear was only hanging on by a piece of skin. I could see the pain with in her eyes and I could feel my heart breaking for her and wishing there was some way I could help her. I laid my hands on her and prayed that the Lord would take away any pain she was feeling and that He would provide the care that she needed and that no infection would come from these injuries because they have no place in her body. Off to her side was her mother, who I prayed for and asked the Lord to bring her comfort and peace in this time that she had to see her daughter suffering and laying there hurt. I could instantly see that she was a believer and trusted in the Lord. I spent some time talking to her and she was telling me how they were waiting on an ambulance to come and pick her daughter up to take her to the town to a bigger clinic that would potentially be able to help her. I asked if she would be going with her daughter and she told me how it cost money for her to go and that they were unsure whether or not she would be able to pay for it. I knew that in countries like this that your family are the people that take care of you in the hospital and if no one was with her, she would have to take care of herself. I asked her how much does it cost and she told me only $15 kwacha and I could feel the Lord saying to me, “I have provided and given you money so that you could help this mother and daughter out. Want you to give $50.”I instantly talked to my host about the best way to go about doing this and he told me the best way. So I went in and asked the mother to come over and I looked her in the eyes and saw so much concern and brokenness seeing her daughter in the state she was. I told her that this money was not from me but from the Lord because He wanted her to stay a long side of her daughter and help her through this trial. I saw her eyes start to water up and could see such gratitude and peace in her face and she thanked me and I prayed over her again and her daughter. When we were leaving we saw the ambulance coming in and then a couple minutes later we heard it leaving. The Lord gave me peace about the daughter and how He was going to take care of her and that she would heal like there was no accident.
A week later we were in a new village working with our host’s church there and was doing the same thing, house visits in the morning and preaching in the afternoon. One of our last mornings there we went out on house visits it was Rose, Bailey, Cassady, and myself going out and the first house we went to I could just feel a heaviness and the Lord came telling me witchcraft was something on this land. The house visit did not go very well and we could see the enemy really blocking and distracting them from hearing what the Lord had for them. The next home that we went to was like a breath of fresh air because the older ladies there were so on fire for the Lord and just trusted in Him in everything. It was simple beautiful and light. Next we walked up to this house and I instantly felt something dark. We soon found out that we were at the Leader of the church’s home, he was the one taking us around to all the different homes and translating and did not let us know until a little ways in that we were at his house talking to his wife and mother. The wife and the mother needed prayer for healing; the wife had a pain in her left side and it had been there for a year or so and the mother had pain in her legs and back and could not speak very well. so we all gathered around and prayed that the Lord would bring healing to them and at the end of the prayer we all said amen except for the wife and the mother. Then to my disbelief the wife started to do this snake like movement and I seriously did not know what to think. I did not know whether it was an act or something else. We soon realized that it was something else because she started to chant and speak in tongues. Bailey looked to Cassady and told her to continue to pray. We started to ask the leader had this ever happen before and did he know what was going on. He then told us that she was possessed by a demon and had been like these for almost two years. We all gathered around her and Rose started speaking truth and declarations on her and Bailey laid her hand on the area that was where the pain was and Cassady and I started praying. I felt the Lord tell me to ask about witchcraft and he said that both his mother and his wife were involved in witchcraft. We felt like we needed to get her to say ‘In the name of Jesus Christ”and we started to tell her to say it. Every time she would try to speak it, she would get to “In the name of Jeeeeeeee”and then it would stop. Bailey told us later how she could feel two demons moving around were her hand was and that she was not going to remove her hand until they stopped moving. I sat there and just continued to pray and I felt the Lord tell me to get in between the daughter-in-law and the mother because I could just feel the stare of whatever was in the mother coming at the daughter-in-law. Rose continued to read scripture and Cassady talked to the wife and explained to her that the only way she would every be dafe is if she asked the Holy Spirit to come into her. She finally was able to say “In the name of Jesus Christ”and then as we continued to pray and read scripture over her, we asked if she would like to accept the Lord as her Savior. She said yes and we led her through the prayer. By the time we left, we all were blown away and could not believe that the Lord just used us to cast demons out of this lady, who had been struggling with this for two years. The next morning she came before we left and we all came around her and asked her how she was feeling and she told us how she felt free and that she really desired getting back on the right path of following the Lord and what He has for her.
Never in my life did I ever think that I would one day be used to cast out demons. If you know me well, you will know that I do not like anything dealing with demons or such because it truly freaks me out. But over the course of this year the Lord has been showing me how He has given me the gift of discernment and even allowed this gift to be used in Bolivia and on. That he has given me a gift to see into the spiritual realm and how to defend for Him. This final month of the race has been absolutely incredible. I truly got to live like the disciples and allow the Lord to use me in ways I never would have dreamed of. We really lived up to Matthew 8 and we saw people healed, people freed for demons, and we saw over 80 people accept the Lord as their personal Savior. We also were able to give out over a 100 Bibles! God sed us in such huge ways and I know that this is only the beginning to what He has next for every single one of us on P Squad.
I cannot thank my supporters enough for making this dream come true and being able to be the hands, feet, mouth, and all for the Lord this year. It truly had been incredible. I am coming home a completely different person and it would not have been possible with all the support. I love you all so much. May God pour blessings over each and every one of you.
