$67.00

You could buy 13.4 cups of Starbucks coffee. (I based that on $5.00 a cup but I haven’t had it in a while). You could buy about half of a monthly metro pass in NYC. You could watch 4.785 movies ($14/ticket). You could buy a tank of gas…possibly less than a full tank.

Or you could send a child to school.

That is all it costs to radically alter the course of a child’s life growing up in Africa. You can ensure that they receive an education, one healthy meal a day and a uniform. The uniform is knitted by women from the surrounding community of Matero.

$67.00 will send a child to school. A child that most likely is an AiDS orphan and destined to live in the streets without Destiny School.

I have no eloquent words or well-formed thoughts on how to try to persuade you.

$67.00 gives a child a future and an education.

It’s that simple.

Will you please consider sponsoring one of the beautiful children of Destiny School? This is not something I was asked or even encouraged to do. But as I met those children, loved those children, and waved goodbye to those children I felt a tugging on my heart for them. I listened to Pastor Peter’s story and I knew, I had to do something. So this is me doing what I can. I can tell their story. And I can pray that it will break your heart like it has broken mine.

I am not wealthy by any means so I can not sponsor them all. I am sponsoring two because that is what I can do. But you… What can you give? What is $67.00? To you reading this, it’s probably not that much, but for them it is a lifeline.

Or maybe $67 is a lot to you as well…and you know what? That’s okay too. I understand. In that case I am asking for your prayers. Pray that God will move the hearts of those whom He has blessed financially.

If you would like to sponsor one or many children at Destiny School, please send me an email at [email protected] to find out how you can do that.

Thank you so much.

“Don’t hoard treasure down here where it gets eaten by moths and corroded by rust or—worse!—stolen by burglars. Stockpile treasure in heaven, where it’s safe from moth and rust and burglars. It’s obvious, isn’t it? The place where your treasure is, is the place you will most want to be, and end up being. (?Matthew? ?6?:?19-21? MSG)

For an answer Jesus called over a child, whom he stood in the middle of the room, and said, “I’m telling you, once and for all, that unless you return to square one and start over like children, you’re not even going to get a look at the kingdom, let alone get in. Whoever becomes simple and elemental again, like this child, will rank high in God’s kingdom. What’s more, when you receive the childlike on my account, it’s the same as receiving me.

“Watch that you don’t treat a single one of these childlike believers arrogantly. You realize, don’t you, that their personal angels are constantly in touch with my Father in heaven? (?Matthew? ?18?:?2-5, 10? MSG)
